Gretchen’s love for literacy began right here at St. Gertrude’s a long time ago! She is a SGS Alum, and after 8 years here, she became part of the St. Francis Borgia Regional High School Class of 2001. She then earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Drury University in Springfield, MO. In 2006, she graduated from University of Missouri-Columbia with her Masters in Elementary Curriculum and Instruction, and completed the Fellows Program by examining the effects of reading comprehension strategies in the classroom. She was a First Grade teacher in the Blue Springs School District before moving back to her hometown of Krakow, MO.
Gretchen is excited to volunteer at St. Gertrude and share her love of books with everyone that enters the library! She cherishes this community and all of the friends and family in it. When she’s not at SGS, she enjoys everyday adventures of all kinds with her three active kids & her husband Brett.
