Relics of the True Cross and Christ's Passion
Feb 11, 2016; Starts at 7:00 PM
Located at: St. Ann Church - Clover Bottom
A unique collection of relics is being brought to the St. Louis region as part of a special nationwide tour by the Apostolate for Holy Relics. The Relics of the Passion Program consists of rare items that are generally seen only in Rome or the Holy Land, and includes a piece of the True Cross, a piece of stone from the room where the Last Supper was held, a piece of the Column of Flagellation, a piece of the Crown of Thorns, the effigy of the Veil of Veronica (touched to the original veil), a replica of a holy nail which contains filings from the true nails, a piece of bone from St. Longinus, and a thread from the cloth used as a wrapping for the Burial Shroud. A program which includes prayers and music commemorating the events of the Passion of Our Lord, Jesus Christ is provided and lasts about 50 minutes. After that, additional time is allowed for personal veneration of the Relics. This event allows participants of all ages in any level of spirituality to deepen and grow in their faith. As we begin our Lenten journey, you are encouraged to join us in this Year of Mercy for this special opportunity that is sure to touch your heart and reconnect
you with the roots of your faith.
This is part of a tour that will be presented at Various Parishes in the St. Louis region from Feb 11 through Feb 15, 2016.
